Lying on his bed after indulging, Rodney almost forgets about the problems he was faced with. He starts to play music and realises that his element is much more enjoyable under the influence. His father returns home to find out that his stash has gone missing from his room and he hears the music. He enters Rodney’s room and sees Rodney asleep on the bed with the music blasting. Without questioning him, his father leaves the room. The next day, Rodney arrives at school almost forgetting about the situation that he was caught up in. With his mind in his headphones yet again he is dragged into a lonely corridor.
Pinned up against the wall by another boy he recognises from the spat yesterday. “ why is this happening? What did i do to deserve something like this?”. The boy questions him with threat in his tone. “i didn’t see anything i swear! Please don’t hurt me”. Rodney pleas with his attacker who then turns the situation around almost as though it were a joke after he hears the bell ring for lunch. “He probably did that because we’re in public at school”. The boy dusts Rodney’s shoulders off and instructs him to meet at the back of school at the end of the day.
